Kassiani is a bright double room with two windows enjoying an eastern and western orientation and overlooking the Castle walls, and a wonderful neighboring garden. The room is decorated with a rare, large, antique mirror.
Kassiani, a.k.a. Kas(s)ia, Eikasia or Ikasia (between 805 and 810 – before 865) was a Byzantine abbess, poet, composer and hymnographer, to whom the hymn traditionally chanted on Holy Tuesday, which begins “Sensing Thy divinity, O Lord, a woman of many sins…”, is ascribed.”
